Bright and zingy, the sort of coffee that forces a smile out of you after you take your first sip. With lime candy, tangerine, and honeysuckle leaping out of the cup we'd say on a scale of fun to funnest, it's all the way funnest.

Zingy lime candy, sweet like a tangerine with a soft honeysuckle florality to boot. Daniel Ortega out the San Agustin region of Colombia did an A+ job making this coffee an easy favorite for both espresso and filter, especially if you want a little extra brightness in your morning cup.
Daniel Ortega , Colombia (Pink Bourbon)
Daniel Ortega has been farming coffee his whole life in the San Agustin region of Colombia and at 72 years old now, that's a whole lot of experience. He only grows tabi and pink bourbon nowadays often producing mixed lots of both but in this case we were lucky to snag an isolated pink bourbon lot from him through our friends at Semilla coffee importing

Why is this coffee special?
Why? Why you ask? Because it's delicious. Who doesn't like pink bourbons? Why are they so loved though? Pink Bourbons yield a higher sugar content and tend to have far greater complexity of flavor. They despite the name, don't appear to be related to the variety bourbon at all and are actually thought to be an Ethiopian land race variety (which helps explain the deliciousness) that popped up in Colombia only about 12 years ago. A decade plus later and they are now a prized but often much more affordable variety than others producing similar cup quality.

Pro-tip: Flavors will peak 3-4 weeks after roasting. Wait to brew it if you can!
